The Fun Run is a 5k race through the corn maze with fun farm obstacles.
There will be an alternate for those that choose to walk.
The Nana Jana Fun Run is to raise awareness for ovarian cancer, the silent killer.
We are trying to “Help Break the Silence.” Visit www.ovarian.org for more information.
All women are at risk
More than 20,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 14,000 women die annually from the disease.
Symptoms exist – They are vague, but increase over time
Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed late when prognosis is poor. However, if caught early ovarian cancer is over 90% treatable.
Early detection increases the survival rate
It’s imperative that the early signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are recognized not only by women, but by their loved ones and the medical community as well.
While the symptoms of ovarian cancer are often not acute or intense, they are not silent; they whisper, so LISTEN.
There is currently NO early detection test for ovarian cancer, nor is there a vaccination to prevent the disease. The key to early diagnosis is awareness.
